School Begins August 6, 2020/Teacher’s Initial Contact to Students/Update Contact Information/Distance Learning Packets for Initial Transitioning

-Distance Learning starts August 6, 2020

-On the first day of school, teachers will make contact with the students to share course information, greetings, establish video meeting, future contact, packet distribution etc.

-Because of the distance learning, it is imperative that all contact information in Aeries is updated to include emails and phone numbers.  Also be sure to update the Emergency Contact list on Aeries by going to the Aeries Parent Portal.  This is what we will use to contact you for information and emergencies.

-All students will initially be receiving a paper Distance Learning (DL) packet.  The information on when to pick up the packet will be announced during the first 2 days of school by teachers.  Students will work on DL packets and teachers will continue to contact the student while working on the DL packet.  While the students are working on the packets, teachers will also be developing a schedule where students will be required to log into a virtual class during their allotted class schedule in accordance with the bell schedule.  Teachers will notify their students and keep learning fluid.

-The Junior High School will be continuing their DL packets until their Chromebooks arrive.  Teachers will continue to keep contact with students.  More to follow.

Note:  School Calendar has not changed.

We want to again thank you and ask for your support during this Worldwide Pandemic.  Schools across the nation are working diligently to create a safe and conducive learning environment.  We understand that this new way of learning will create hardships for some families, but we ask that you partner with us as we transition through these hard times.

To assist the families and keep you updated, we will be initiating a Parent Workshop to identify best practices in the high desert and to offer training in Google Classroom, Aeries, and Ensure active student participation during this learning process and any other crucial family needs.  Thank you!
