In class on Friday, we updated our TOC, then spent some time finishing WS Joke #53 for a stamp.

In class on Thursday, students received their graded pop quizzes back and then we reviewed examples of how to use the quadratic formula to solve equations.  After, students received WS: Joke #53.  We will continue working on this worksheet tomorrow.

In class on Wednesday, students earned a stamp on WS 14.7 (solving by factoring) and then we reviewed how to solve quadratics using the quadratic formula before taking the Pop Quiz.

In class on Tuesday, students had 15 minutes of class time to finish and earn stamps on their WS 14.6.  Then we reviewed Solving Quadratics by Factoring and completed WS 14.7.

In class on Monday, students earned points for their calendars, then updated their grade trackers.  After, they received their graded notebooks and completed a Unit 5 TOC grade reflection (percentage, letter grade, highlighting).  We then set up our last unit and reviewed graphing and solving quadratics so that students could complete WS 14.1 (from Friday) for a stamp and then work on WS 14.6.  We will have a little bit more time to complete WS 14.6 tomorrow before stamping.

There were no classes held today due to our Block Schedule for iReady Testing.  Classes will resume tomorrow.

In class on Monday, students completed their grade trackers and then we inspected notecards and turned in notebooks before taking the Unit 5 Test.

In class on Friday, students created notecards (one side only) of formulas and notes for the test on Monday.  Be sure that all work is completed and organized into your notebooks and ready for grading on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students earned stamps on page 2 of the practice test, then updated their TOC and organized their notebooks.  It will be worth 210 points when turned in on test day.

In class on Wednesday, students traded and graded page 1 of the practice test and then got their stamps.  After, we completed page 2 of the practice test.

In class on Tuesday, students earned stamps on yesterday's GIST summary, then they completed their Grade Trackers.  After, we began our review for Thursday's test together by simplifying complex expressions on the board, then students completed WS: Practice Test page 1.   

In class on Monday, students earned their points for the past two weeks homework stamps, then students logged into iReady to complete the last lesson/quiz before next week's iReady Diagnostic Testing.  Please have your GIST summary ready to be stamped by tomorrow.

In class on Thursday, students earned a stamp on their quiz corrections and then we began our Notes: Division of Complex Numbers.  At the end of class, students received WS: Joke #11 but we will make some time in class tomorrow to finish it.

In class on Wednesday, students updated their TOCs, then they received their graded/stamped Grade Analysis worksheets as well as yesterday's quiz.  Students completed Quiz Corrections in 3 Columns and then we began our Notes: Division of Complex Numbers.  We will continue with these notes tomorrow.  If you didn't get your corrections done in class, I will stamp them tomorrow.

In class on Friday, students earned stamps on their joke worksheet and then worked on their Mathspace Multiplication of Complex Numbers practice.  Please earn mastery before midnight.

 

Also, juniors were to turn in their CAASPP Practice Test work evidence by end of day.

In class on Thursday, students traded and graded the WS: Powers of i and then continued working on WS: Joke #12 to earn a stamp.  If students finished, they continued on to complete the Mathspace lesson: Multiplication of Complex Numbers.  

In class on Thursday, we finished the last page of our Notes: Complex Numbers for a stamp and then Juniors logged onto the CAASPP website to start the Science Practice Test.  Show your work for each problem on a single sheet of paper and turn it in for extra credit points by 4/26.  Other non-11th grade students completed make up work.

In class on Wednesday, juniors worked with me to continue the CAASPP Practice Test (6-12) and all other students had a make up work assignment to do.

In class on Thursday, students logged into mathspace to complete MS: Operations with Roots of Negative Numbers.

In class on Wednesday, we continued our Notes: Complex Numbers (but paused after the 2nd page) and then logged into mathspace to complete the practice for "Operations with Roots of Negative Numbers"

In class on Monday, students earned points for their last homework calendar and then we logged into aeries to update our grade trackers.  After, we completed our next iReady lesson and quiz and filled out a GIST Summary.  

In class on Friday, students received their Notes packet: Complex Numbers and we completed the first page only.  Then students logged into mathspace to complete the practice for MS: What is a Complex Number?

In class on Wednesday, students updated their Table of Contents in preparation for turning in the notebook tomorrow.  Students earned stamps on yesterday's work evidence on p.118.  Then students logged into mathspace to complete the Unit 4 Practice Test (1-20all).  

 

Please be sure to finish your practice test before midnight for on time credit and organize your work into your notebook before class so that you can maximize your notebook score, as it is out of 450 points.  

In class on Tuesday, students earned stamps for yesterday's learning log, then we passed back Friday's timed factoring quizzes.  After, we reviewed completing the square and then students logged into mathspace to complete Factoring by Completing the Square.

In class on Monday, we counted the calendar stamps from the past two weeks, then students started a new calendar.  Students logged into Aeries to update their Grade Trackers.  After, students logged into iReady to complete their next lesson and quiz and a Learning Log for it (with notes on the back) is due tomorrow.

In class on Friday, we filled in and reviewed the Factoring Guide Notes and then students completed the practice in mathspace for "Mixed Factorizations" in the chapter called Operations with Polynomials.  Work evidence will be stamped on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students earned a stamp on yesterday's mathspace lesson and the half sheet called Factoring Perfect Squares Practice, then they completed the Timed Quiz on Factoring Perfect Squares.  Then students received their graded quizzes on bottoms up factoring and completed Quiz Corrections in 3 columns for it.

In class on Tuesday, we filled in our Notes: Factoring Quadratics with the Xbox and Bottoms Up Methods for a stamp and then students completed WS Joke 37 "How to Rabbits Travel?"

 

In class on Monday, students earned stamps for Friday's homework calendar, then we added up their total stamps from the past two weeks (2/11/19 to 2/22/19).  After, they completed their grade trackers, then logged into iReady for another Lesson and passing quiz score.  A GIST summary needs to be completed in the notebook for a stamp tomorrow.

In class on Friday, we finished our notes for a stamp and then logged into mathspace to complete "Difference of Two Squares."  Please finish this lesson to 75% mastery or higher by midnight for on time credit.  I will stamp the work evidence on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students updated their TOCs, turned in their work evidence for MS: Grouping in Pairs, then were given their quizzes back to complete 3 Column Quiz Corrections for a stamp.  After we continued with our Notes on Factoring Special Cases but didn't finish.

In class on Wednesday, students turned in yesterday's learning log, then logged into mathspace to complete the practice for "Grouping in Pairs" up to 75% mastery before midnight.  Please have your work neatly shown on a single piece of paper to be turned in tomorrow for on time credit.

In class on Tuesday, students completed their grade trackers and then logged into iReady to complete their next Lesson and Quiz.  A learning log for this assignment is due tomorrow and it must have some math notes on the back side.  If you need to make up a khanacademy lesson alternative, see me for the correct topic.

In class on Friday, students reviewed their solutions to #8, #9, and #14 from worksheet 13.15, then we stamped.  We then reviewed for the quiz with 4 practice problems, and then took the Quiz: Factoring by GCF and by Grouping.  After, we began completing our Notes: Factoring Special Products but ran out of time.  We will continue these notes next week.

Friday was a sub day, students were to complete worksheet 13.2 and turn it in to the sub before dismissal.

In class on Thursday, students worked on WS 13.1 for a stamp before dismissal.  The exit slip was scored as such: 3 points for correct factorization, 2 points for correct GCF only, 1 point for trying.  You will see this exit slip problem in your sub day worksheet 13.2. 

 

Remember that tomorrow is a sub day and all work must be shown neatly and turned in before dismissal for on time credit.  You may work together quietly, but try to earn 5 out of 5 for behavior.  

In class on Wednesday, we finished our Notes: Dividing Polynomials AKA Factoring for a stamp, then we started working on WS 13.1.  Will will finish this worksheet tomorrow in class for a stamp.

In class on Tuesday, students earned a stamp for yesterday's GIST Summary.  Then students logged into Aeries to complete the Grade Tracker and turn it in for on time credit.  After, we continued working to complete the Guided Notes: Multiplying Special Products.  Period 5 had their notes stamped before dismissal, but period 4 will get their stamps on this tomorrow.  

In class on Monday, students earned a stamp for last Friday's homework calendar and then we added up the total stamps so far (each student should have 9 calendar stamps).  Then students logged into iReady to complete their next lesson and quiz (must pass with 70% or higher).  Students re-created the format of the GIST Summary in their notebooks and then completed it based on their lesson/quiz in iReady.  This will be stamped in class tomorrow.  Please finish your iReady lesson before midnight for on-time credit.

In class on Friday, I did a TOC Update Check and a Notebook Organization Check.  After, we logged into Aeries to look for gradebook errors.  Then we began completing our Guided Notes: Multiplying Special Products.  We will finish this next week.

In class on Friday, students received their graded notebooks from last semester.  Then we set up Unit 4: Polynomial Operations and Complex Numbers.  Then we reviewed yesterday's khan academy GIST Summaries and then completed WS: Classifying Polynomials

Students were to complete a GIST Summary form where they took notes and summarized their lessons in a 5 sentence summary that includes academic vocabulary.  This was to be turned in before dismissal for on time credit.

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed our course syllabus and expectations for 2nd semester, then students logged into iReady to complete either the Diagnostic Test 2 (if not done in December) or the next lesson and quiz.  Students were given a Learning Log form before dismissal.  You were to answer each question with a minimum of 7 sentences that have academic vocabulary in order to earn a stamp.

In class on Tuesday, students submitted their Calendars for extra credit and then spent some time studying/prepping the notebook for grading.  Stamps were given on completed work evidence from Friday.  Then we completed the Final Exam.  

In class on Friday, students completed MS: Practice Final (1-35 all).  Be sure to finish this task before midnight of the day before your final for on time credit.  Also, prepare your notebook's unit 3 to be graded on test day.  

Due to the finals block schedule, no class was held on Monday.  Please be sure to prepare your notebooks for grading and to finish the practice final in mathspace for on time credit before midnight tonight.

In class on Thursday, students used class time to update the Table of Contents and organize their notebooks.  Be sure that all assignments are completed before your final exam date (when Unit 3 is due for grading).

 

 

In class on Wednesday, students earned a stamp on yesterday's worksheet and then we completed WS: Simplifying Rational Exponents.  Remember to use our learned exponent properties from Unit 2 with each problem's fractional powers.  This will be stamped tomorrow.

In class on Tuesday, students earned a stamp on yesterday's worksheet Joke #72 and then we reviewed how to translate Radical Expressions to their equivalent Rational Exponent Expressions and Simplify using Exponent form.  After, students completed WS: Radicals and Rational Exponents.  This will be stamped tomorrow if completed by the start of class.

In class on Monday, we stamped Thursday's Notes/Worksheet 10.6 Radical Equations, then students updated their grade trackers using Aeries, and students updated the TOC for participation points.  Then students received their sub day worksheet back WS 15.10 and were given WS: Joke #72 for today's assignment.  Please finish WS Joke #72 for an on time stamp tomorrow.

Friday was a sub day, students completed WS 15.10 and turned it in to the sub before dismissal.

In class on Thursday, students finished their Three Column Quiz Corrections and earned a stamp if done before dismissal.  Then we completed WS 10.6: Radical Equations.  Please finish solving each example problem and check each solution to be sure it's not extraneous.  Remember that tomorrow is a sub day and so I will stamp this on Monday, when I return.  

 

In class on Wednesday, students studied their practice quiz in mathspace before taking the Quiz: Operations on Radicals.  We will have some time tomorrow to work on three column quiz corrections before earning on time stamps.

In class on Tuesday, students continued their iReady Diagnostic Test 2.  Those who finish today will receive the on time credit 100 points.  Also, you can earn 10 points of extra credit for showing grade level improvement.

In class on Monday, students updated their grade trackers and had their calendar evidence from last week graded.  Then we logged into iReady to complete the second diagnostic test.  We will finish testing tomorrow.  Goal: improve in at least one math domain by one grade level.

In class on Friday, students had some time to finish yesterday's WS 15.5 before earning an on time stamp.  Then we logged into mathspace tasks to find the Practice Quiz (1-10 all).  Please finish this task before midnight for on time credit and I will stamp the work evidence on Monday.

In class on Wednesday, we stamped WS 11.5 if it was completed before class.  Then we completed the WS: Exponents Review by matching the examples from the board to the correct property.  Then we completed WS 11.6.

In class on Tuesday, we reviewed the 3 power properties of exponents and then students completed WS 11.5.  I will stamp at the beginning of class tomorrow for completed work evidence.

I recommend logging into iReady to complete the lesson and quiz in your dashboard.  Quiz scores must surpass 80% for credit.  Let me know when I can update your late credit.  

In class on Thursday, all students logged into iReady to either take the initial diagnostic assessment or complete growth monitoring lessons and quizzes.  Earning a score of 80% or higher ensure that you wont have to repeat the math lesson and quiz.

In class on Wednesday, students updated their TOC and organized their work into their notebooks.  Then we reviewed Dividing Algebraic Terms with Exponents before students logged into mathspace to complete MS: Divide Algebraic Terms with Exponents.  

In class on Tuesday, students updated their Grade Trackers using Aeries.  Then, students logged into mathspace to complete MS: Multiply Algebraic Terms with Exponents.  Work evidence will be stamped tomorrow.

In class on Thursday, students finished and then got stamps for the WS 6.17.  Then we reviewed multiplication and division properties of exponents before completing MS: Multiply and Divide Algebraic Terms.  Work evidence will be stamped on Tuesday if complete.

There were no classes on Friday, due to our Annual College and Career Fair.  Also remember there is no School on Monday due to our observance of Indigenous People's Day

Due to PSAT Testing, Wednesday was a sub day.  Students were to complete W 6.7: Addition and Subtraction of Unlike Fractions and show all of their work before turning it in to the sub before dismissal.  

 

 

In class on Tuesday, we reviewed the fraction operation examples from the Notes packet: Rules for Fractions and then finished processing the notes with questions and a summary for a stamp.  Then students received WS 6.17 All Operations with Fractions (Review).  We will stamp this worksheet on Thursday.  

In class on Monday, students updated their My Grade Tracker sheets using Aeries.  Then, we completed the Unit 1 TOC Grade Reflection by:

In class on Friday, students continued with setting up and organizing Unit 2 of the notebook.  Then we reviewed the IMN Grading Policy and applied highlighter evidence for a stamp and stapled it to page 2.  Then, students received a notes packet: Rules for Fractions.  They were to follow the Focused Note Taking steps to process these notes.  We will stamp the notes on Monday, be sure that all example practice problems have been completed.  

In class on Thursday, we reviewed the lowest scored quiz problems before students completed the Quiz Retake.  Afterwards, students continued with setting up Unit 2 of the notebook by copying the TOC from the previous post, and then glueing/stapling all of the work evidence that was stamped and passed back.

In class on Wednesday, students completed Quiz Corrections for a stamp.   Then students received their graded notebooks.  Please calculate your unit 1 percentage and letter grade.  If there are any 0 pages, please fill in the missing work and turn in your notebook ASAP for late grade updates.  Please copy down the Unit 2 TOC attached below.

In class on Tuesday, we reviewed for the quiz together as a class and then students logged into mathspace to take their quiz.  All work evidence from the quiz was to be turned in before dismissal. 

 

Period 4: After, the quiz students were to complete their 3 Column Quiz Corrections on a separate sheet of paper to correct any Non-Green scored problems.  These will be collected in class tomorrow for on time credit.

In class on Monday, students updated their grade tracker using Aeries.  Then we utilized a catch up day so that students could work towards completing any of the missing mathspace lessons from last week, as they will be the topic for tomorrow's Quiz.

In class on Friday, students turned in their work evidence for yesterday's mathspace lesson.  Then we reviewed how to simplify expressions after substituting in a value.  After, students completed MS Practice for "Substitute into Algebraic Expressions."  The work evidence for this lesson is due on Monday at the beginning of class.

In class on Thursday, we reviewed how to distribute expressions with non-linear terms and then students completed the mathspace practice "Distributive Property 2 (nonlinear terms)."  Please continue working until you reach at least 75% mastery and then turn in your work evidence tomorrow at the beginning of class for on time credit.

Wednesday was a sub day.  Students were to turn in their previous day's work evidence for on time stamps and then complete the mathspace practice for "Simplify Expressions Involving Multiple Operations" to at least 75% mastery level or higher.  All work evidence for this lesson was to be turned in to the sub before dismissal for an on time stamp.

In class on Tuesday, students filled in the Grade Tracker with updated grades and GPA's, then we logged into mathspace.co to complete "Mixed Operations with Algebraic Terms" to 100% Mastery (It is in the first chapter: Algebraic Expressions).  All work was to be shown on a single sheet of paper with a proper heading and numbered problems.  You have until midnight to finish the mastery to earn on time credit in Aeries and the work needs to be turned in tomorrow to the substitute for an on time stamp.

In class on Monday, we completed the Grade Tracker by logging in to Aeries to track our math grade and overall GPA (or attempted to with terrible wifi connectivity).  Then we completed our 3 Column Quiz Corrections for our last stamp before turning in our notebooks for Unit 1 to be graded.

Friday was a sub day.  Students were to show their work neatly for each problem of the review worksheet WS 12.6: Perimeter and Area with Polynomials.  All work was to be turned in to the sub for on time credit.

In class on Thursday, students turned in their FACEing math drawings for on time credit.  Then, we reviewed for the quiz together as a class.  Then students completed Quiz: Simplifying Expressions and Solving Multistep Equations

In class on Wednesday, students updated their TOC and then caught up on finishing the worksheets: WS 1.7, WS 1.9, and WS 3.15 for a stamp.  Prepare for tomorrow's quiz and notebooks that are due Friday.

Tuesday was an unexpected Sub Day.  All review worksheets should have been turned in to the sub before dismissal

In class on Monday, students continued with the iReady Diagnostic Math Testing until it was completed.  Afterwards, students had the option to complete a review worksheet.  

In class on Thursday, students began the iReady Diagnostic Test that will take about two class sessions to complete.  Thank you for your attendance and for giving it your best.

 

Make Up Test Days will be announced next week.  Take time to look at your aeries accounts and notebooks to see if there is any missing work that you can make up.

In class on Tuesday, students received their quizzes from yesterday so we could trade and grade them.  Afterwards, students completed 3 Column Quiz Corrections for any problem that had a mistake.  If you are not happy with your grade, finish your corrections, and plan to attend lunch tutoring as early as Wednesday to make up this quiz.

In class on Monday, students studied WS 8.1 and WS 9.16 in order to prepare for the Linear Systems Quiz.  After reviewing together on the board, students completed the quiz.  

In class on Friday, students worked on finished WS 9.16: Graphing Systems of Linear Inequalities, then we completed grade checks using our aeries accounts.

In class on Thursday, students worked in groups to finish graphing systems of equations on WS 8.1, then earned a stamp.  After, we reviewed solving systems of inequalities by graphing and began WS 9.16.

In class on Wednesday, students finished working on WS 8.1 to earn their stamps.  Additional notes from class are attached for your reference.

In class on Tuesday, students whose notebooks were updated and organized earned some extra credit from the random notebook check.  Then, we traded and graded our Linear Functions Quiz before completing 3 Column Quiz Corrections on page 18 of the notebook for a stamp.

In class on Friday, students earned a stamp on the vocabulary WS 7.4.  Then after reviewing our work on linear equations and inequalities, students completed the Quiz: Linear Functions.  After, students received WS 8.1 on systems of linear equations, which will be stamped on Tuesday.  Please make time to update your table of contents and organize your work to prepare for an upcoming notebook check.

No School on Monday due to the observance of Labor Day.  See you all Tuesday in full uniform.

In class on Thursday, we collected the syllabus parent signature forms, then completed the WS: Graphing Inequalities while working in groups.  Once finished, each group was to receive their Vocab review worksheet WS 7.4.  Please study your equations and inequality worksheets to prepare for tomorrow's quiz.

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed the syllabus and put on our highlighter interaction evidence.  Please get your syllabus acknowledgement forms signed by parents tonight.  Afterwards, students received their timed integer quizzes and we corrected our multiplication chart/squares/cubes lists.  Then, we reviewed Inequalities and began the WS: Graphing Inequalities.  We will finish in class tomorrow.

In class on Tuesday, students got their Author's page stamped and then we set up Unit 1 of the notebook.  We reviewed Graphing Linear Equations and then students completed WS: Graphing Lines to earn a stamp before dismissal.

In class on Monday, students logged into mathspace to change our curriculum.  Then we completed our authors page.

In class on Thursday, we traded and graded the Timed Integer Quiz from yesterday, then continued with our Course Expectations Slideshow.  We completed a KWL on How our Brain Learns Information and then began our learning styles survey.

1. All work needs to have work shown and is due to your substitute before dismissal
2. Sub Day Participation Points are TRIPLE a regular day, which means 60 points.  You must work as a team to earn an excellent behavior note from your sub by sitting and working quietly with your learning groups for the entire period.  If your class wins best class of the day, those students will earn extra credit!
