In class on Tuesday, students finished their Notes: Transformations on a Plane for a stamp.  Then we reviewed Side Side Side Triangle Congruence and after students received WS 44.  We will stamp this worksheet tomorrow.

In class on Monday, students updated their grade trackers, then they received their graded notebooks and we completed the Unit 5 TOC Grade Reflection.  After, we reviewed Triangle Congruence and  CPCTC (Congruent Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent) and completed WS: Joke #14 for a stamp in class.

In class on Friday, students received their graded Unit 5 Test and completed Test Corrections in 3 columns.

In class on Wednesday, students finished iReady Testing, while those who already completed their exam continued with the geometry practice test and notebook prep.  We will note have classes tomorrow due to the 2/4/6 Block Schedule, but I will see you back in class on Tuesday.

In class on Tuesday, students completed the iReady Diagnostic Test in our 2-hour block schedule for periods 1/3/5.  Testing must be finished by Friday in order to get the Aeries grade for it.

In class on Friday, students finished their Midpoint Formula worksheets for a stamp.  Please make time to log in to mathspace to make up the Distance Formula Practice before next week's  quiz.

In class on Monday, we counted the calendar stamps from the past two weeks, then students started a new calendar.  Students logged into Aeries to update their Grade Trackers.  After, students logged into iReady to complete their next lesson and quiz and a Learning Log for it (with notes on the back) is due tomorrow.

In class on Friday, we began Unit 5: Geometry by logging into mathspace to locate the Chapter called Geometry Basics and the Lesson Topic called "Lines, Line Segments and Rays."  Students recorded vocabulary and notes from the ebook and then completed the practice set to earn 75% mastery.  All work was to be done on a single sheet of paper and will be turned in on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students finished presenting their Test Corrections to earn points back on their test scores.

In class on Friday, we reviewed all of the linear relationship concepts we have learned and then students completed the Practice Test in mathspace.  The work evidence will be stamped next week.

In class on Monday, students started their weekly homework calendars.  Then we logged into iReady to complete our next lesson and quiz.  Students were to fill out the GIST Summary while working on their iReady lessons and turn it in before dismissal.

In class on Friday, we reviewed the two methods for finding slope: by Counting and by the Formula.  Then students worked on completing WS 7.8.  This worksheet will be stamped on Monday if it is complete with all work shown.

In class on Thursday, students logged into iReady to either finish their diagnostic tests or complete their second lesson/quiz in iReady. 

 

Students were to complete a GIST Summary form before dismissal to summarize what they learned.  Be sure that your summary has 5 complete sentences that include academic vocabulary.

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed our course syllabus and expectations for 2nd semester, then students logged into iReady to complete either the Diagnostic Test 2 (if not done in December) or the next lesson and quiz.  Students were given a Learning Log form before dismissal.  You were to answer each question with a minimum of 7 sentences that have academic vocabulary in order to earn a stamp.

In class on Monday, students submitted their Calendars for extra credit and then spent some time studying/prepping the notebook for grading.  Stamps were given on completed work evidence from Friday.  Then we completed the Final Exam.  

In class on Friday, students completed MS: Practice Final (1-25all).  Please finish answering each question before midnight on Sunday for on time credit.  Be sure to organize your notebook's unit 3 as well, so it can be graded on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students completed WS: Graphing Horizontal and Vertical Lines for a stamp in class.  Then, students spent the rest of class organizing their notebook's Unit 3 that will be turned in next Monday before the final exam.

In class on Wednesday, students completed WS: Reflection For WS 9.13 for a stamp and then corrected their graphs on WS 9.13 for late credit.  After, we reviewed WS: Horizontal and Vertical Linear Equations and students completed two graph examples on the back side for a stamp before dismissal.

In class on Tuesday, students completed WS: Reflection of WS 7.12 for a stamp before dismissal and at the same time corrected the graphs on the sub day worksheet WS 7.12 for late credit. 

In class on Monday, earned a stamp on Thursday's notes/worksheets on Graphing Linear Equations and Graphing Linear Inequalities.  Then students updated their TOC's for participation points and updated their Grade Trackers using Aeries.  After, I awarded calendar points and passed back both sub day worksheets WS 7.12 and WS 9.13.  These need to be finished in order to receive late credit.

Friday was a sub day, students were to complete WS: 7.12 &  WS: 9.13 and turn them in to the sub before dismissal.

In class on Thursday, we completed WS: Graphing Linear Equations in Slope Intercept Form and WS: Graphing Linear Inequalities in Slope Intercept Form for TWO stamps before dismissal.  Please use these tomorrow to help you with your sub day worksheets.  Since I wont be there, stamps for these worksheets will be given on Monday.  Be sure to graph your problems neatly using a ruler on your sub day work and turn it in before dismissal for on time credit.

In class on Wednesday, students continued working on their iReady Diagnostic Test 2, then logged into Aeries to make up missing assignments.

In class on Tuesday, students continued their iReady Diagnostic Test 2.  Those who finish today will receive the on time credit 100 points.  Also, you can earn 10 points of extra credit for showing grade level improvement.

In class on Monday, students updated their grade trackers and had their calendar evidence from last week graded.  Then we logged into iReady to complete the second diagnostic test.  We will finish testing tomorrow.  Goal: improve in at least one math domain by one grade level.

In class on Friday, students finished their Quiz Corrections in three columns for an on time stamp and then we reviewed solving two step inequalities on the board.  After, students logged into mathspace to complete the mastery for Solve Two Step Inequalities.  Please be sure to finish the practice before midnight for on time credit and I will stamp the work evidence on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students had some time in class to finish the Practice Quiz (1-10 all) in mathspace and then received stamps for their on time work evidence.  Then students completed the mathspace Quiz: SADMEP Solving.  We will have some time in class tomorrow to work on corrections for any non-green scored problems. and earn stamps.

In class on Wednesday, completed quiz corrections were stamped.  Then, we began filling in our clozed notes by filling in the blanks and completing the math examples on the first and second pages.  The pass out of class was finishing the example problems before class from the 1st/2nd pages.  We will continue with these notes tomorrow.

Then, we reviewed how to represent domain and range in words versus in an inequality versus in interval notations.  Please see the notes from the board below for reference.  After, students logged into mathspace to complete MS: Domain and Range of Functions to earn mastery of 75% or higher.  After, students completed the practice quiz that is listed in your mathspace start button tasks.  Work evidence will be stamped for these two assignments tomorrow.  

 

Remember to keep your notebooks organized and updated so that they are prepared for grading by Thursday, Test Day.

Due to PSAT Testing, Wednesday was a sub day.  Students were to complete Worksheet 6.6 and show their work for each problem before turning it in at dismissal for on time credit. 

In class on Tuesday, students updated their Unit 2 TOC and then stapled in their Quiz: Relations and Functions and Quiz Corrections that were passed back with stamps.  After, we reviewed together how to evaluate functions and then students completed the Exit Slip: to copy the examples from the board and then evaluate G(0) and G(3) on their own.  Exit slips receive on time credit if completed before dismissal.

In class on Monday, students updated their My Grade Tracker sheet using Aeries.  Then we completed the Unit 1 TOC Grade Reflection by:

Then, we set up Unit 2 by copying the TOC posted online onto a fresh TOC and stapleing in all of the Unit 2 work that was passed back in class.  We will continue organizing tomorrow.

In class on Friday, we reviewed together as a class before the quiz on relations and functions.  Then students logged into mathspace to take their quiz while showing their work evidence on a single sheet of paper.  After the quiz, students were to do 3 Column Corrections for any non-green scored problems on a separate sheet of paper for a stamp before the end of the day.  Students were given back their graded notebooks as well.  We will review our unit 1 scores and set up unit 2 next week.

In class on Thursday, students traded and graded WS 6.5, then wrote an explanation proving why each non-function is not a function.  Then students worked in groups to complete WS: Algebra 1 - Relations and Functions and turned both worksheets in for an on time stamp before dismissal.

 

Students also received their iReady diagnostic placement scores.

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed Relations and Functions together on the board, then students received their Focused Notes from yesterday and added helpful information from our lecture examples.  After notes were updated, they were to be turned in.  Then students completed WS 6.5 and turned it in before dismissal for a stamp.

In class on Tuesday, students received their My Grade Tracker so they could update their progress in math as well as their overall GPA.  These were turned in for on time credit.  

 

After, we celebrated our updated Top 5 Students:  Jessie, Julianna, Brian, Patience, and Justin. Congratulations and keep up the hard work!

 

Then we reviewed the steps of focused note taking and students processed their notes packet for Relations and Functions.  Remember to follow the steps: 

Notes that were turned in before dismissal will be graded for on time credit.

In class on Monday, students had time to study the Quiz corrections from Friday before the Quiz Retake in Mathspace.  After, students were asked to check their Aeries accounts and find any missing assignments from mathspace that needed to be completed for 70% late credit.

In class on Friday, students turned in their completed WS: Circles - Area, Circumference, and Perimeter for on time credit.  Then we worked in groups to complete a review of the Quiz: Algebraic Expressions in Measurement, where students worked together to write out the work and steps for each problem that was on last week's quiz.  All review work was to be turned in before dismissal for on time credit.  

 

Quiz Retake is postponed until Monday

In class on Thursday, we reviewed finding circumferences and areas of circles and other composite shapes.  Then students completed WS: Circles - Areas, Circumference, and Perimeter.  Please finish and turn it in tomorrow for an on time stamp.

Wednesday was a sub day.  Students were to have turned in their previous day's homework worksheet and then complete the Worksheet: Three Dimensional Shapes - Prisms - Volumes.  Stamps will be given for worksheets that show all the work for each problem shown neatly (on the backside or on a separate piece of paper) and were turned in to the sub before dismissal.  

In class on Tuesday, we stamped yesterday's quiz and 3 column corrections and then notebooks were turned in for grading Unit 1.  Then, we reviewed surface area and completed WS: Three Dimensional Shapes - Prisms - Surface Area

 

If you need help with your worksheet, we completed the Triangle Prism problem on the board before dismissal.  See the attached images.

In class on Monday, we completed the Grade Tracker by logging in to Aeries to track our math grade and overall GPA (or attempted to with terrible wifi connectivity).  Then we logged in to mathspace to record our quiz work for a stamp and then complete our 3 Column Quiz Corrections.  

Friday was a sub day.  Students were to show their work neatly for each problem of the review worksheet WS 12.6: Perimeter and Area with Polynomials.  All work was to be turned in to the sub for on time credit.

In class on Thursday, we reviewed for the quiz together.  Then students completed Quiz: Algebraic Expressions in Measurement in mathspace.  I will stamp the quiz page next class.  After, students prepped their notebooks for grading.  Unit 1 will be worth 260 points, so be sure to update your TOC and staple everything in.

In class on Wednesday, students finished completing WS 2.4, WS 1.2 (sub day), and recieved WS 1.9 to be stamped before dismissal.

Tuesday was an unexpected Sub Day.  All review worksheets should have been turned in to the sub before dismissal

In class on Monday, students continued with the iReady Diagnostic Math Testing until it was completed.  Afterwards, students had the option to complete a review worksheet.  

In class on Thursday, students began the iReady Diagnostic Test that will take about two class sessions to complete.  Thank you for your attendance and for giving it your best.

 

Make Up Test Days will be announced next week.  Take time to look at your aeries accounts and notebooks to see if there is any missing work that you can make up.

In class on Wednesday, we stamped work evidence from completing Build Algebraic Expressions. 

 

Then we passed out a formulas handout and students highlighted and defined Perimeter, Area, Volume, and Surface Area for a stamp.  Please staple that onto page 19. 

 

After, we reviewed practice problems from MS: Algebra in Measurement and students then completed their practice lesson in class to earn 75% mastery.  If you didn't meet your target in class, please log in tonight and finish before midnight for on time points.

 

Remember to bring your earbuds/headphones for iReady Diagnostic Testing tomorrow and Friday.  Students who are present, do their best, and finish the exam will earn 100 points.  

  

In class on Tuesday, we reviewed my practice problems from MS: Build Algebraic Expressions, then students completed the practice in mathspace while showing work on page 18 of the  notebook.  Please continue working until you reach at least 75% mastery.  Thank you to those who stayed focused on this task in class.  Stamps will be given first thing in class tomorrow for those with evidence of their completed lesson.

In class on Monday, students had time to copy down their Quiz work using their mathspace quiz's scorecard in order to get a stamp on p.15 of the notebook.  After, students were to complete 3 column corrections on page 16 of the notebook for any quiz problem that was not scored as green (those that were yellow, orange, red or gray)

In class on Friday, students earned stamps on their work evidence for MS Lesson: Components in an Expression.  Then, we completed Grade Check using our aeries accounts.  After, we reviewed our MS Lesson and Notes before taking the Pop Quiz in Mathspace.  Your work evidence for the quiz will be stamped on Monday.

In class on Thursday, we reviewed practice problems from Mathspace's Lesson: Components in an Expression. Then students logged into mathspace to complete their practice problem set.  Remember to show all of your work in your notebook neatly on the assigned page and to continue working until you reach 100% mastery.

In class on Wednesday, students finished creating their first set of focused notes on the mathspace lesson Components in an Expression.  

In class on Tuesday, we conducted extra credit notebook checks for those with their work stapled/glued in neatly according to the Table of Contents.  Please make time to get your notebooks organized so you will be ready for our next random extra credit opportunity.

 

We also reviewed the policy for IMN Grading and earned a stamp for showing the proper highlighting evidence marks.  Then, we began our first set of Focused Notes on the mathspace  Lesson: Components of an Expression.  We will finish in class tomorrow and get our stamps.  

In class on Friday, we collected syllabus parent signature forms, and then completed our Integer Quiz Corrections in 3 columns for a stamp.  Please make time to organize your work according to the table of contents to prepare for our next notebook check.

No School on Monday due to the observance of Labor Day.  See you all Tuesday in full uniform.

In class on Thursday, we reviewed the syllabus and then students received the syllabus parent signature form.  Please return the signed form tomorrow for on time credit.  After, we reviewed the multiplication chart/squares/cubes list and began our Integer Quiz Corrections in three columns.  Quiz corrections will be stamped tomorrow.

In class on Wednesday, we numbered our notebook pages and copied the Table of Contents to begin glueing/stapling our work evidence into Unit 1.  

In class on Tuesday, students logged into mathspace and changed the curriculum to Common Core Integrated Math 1, then we completed the Author's Page on page 0.

In class on Monday, we finished our Learning Style Survey, we subscribed to this class webpage, and then completed the online questionnaire.  We began creating our Aeries accounts and will finish tomorrow.

In class on Thursday, students practiced for the quiz by completing the integers worksheet with the title "How did the Dentist and the Manicurist Fight?"  Then we completed the Timed Integers Quiz and began our Course Expectations slideshow.  

1. All work needs to have work shown and is due to your substitute before dismissal
2. Sub Day Participation Points are TRIPLE a regular day, which means 60 points.  You must work as a team to earn an excellent behavior note from your sub by sitting and working quietly with your learning groups for the entire period.  If your class wins best class of the day, those students will earn extra credit!
