In class on Monday, students updated their grade trackers, and earned a stamp on Friday's WS Joke 38.  Then we worked together to review and finish Geometric Series topics on WS Joke 49.

In class on Friday, we stamped the WS Joke #49, then we completed WS: Unit Circle Study Sheet Degrees and Radians for a stamp, then completed WS: Joke #38.

In class on Wednesday, students earned a stamp on WS Joke #48 and then watched the videos on Khanacademy on Finite Geometric Series and completed a GIST summary.  This will be stamped tomorrow.

In class on Tuesday, we stamped the GIST summary from yesterday's khanacademy videos, then we reviewed Summations and Arithmetic Sequences and Series before working on WS Joke #48.

In class on Monday, students earned points for their calendars, then we completed our grade trackers.  After, students received their graded notebooks and filled out their Unit 5 TOC Grade Reflection (percentage, letter grade and highlighting).  Then, students set up our last unit according to the TOC.  Students then visited Khanacademy to watch video/lessons for Basic Sigma Notation and Finite Arithmetic Series.  Please fill out a full page GIST summary of these topics for a stamp tomorrow.

In class on Thursday, students completed their iReady Diagnostic Testing.

In class on Wednesday, students began their iReady Testing.  We will continue with testing in our block period schedule tomorrow.

In class on Friday, we continued working on the Mathspace Practice Test.  Students are allowed to create a one sided notecard for the test on Monday.

In class on Monday, students earned their points for the past two weeks homework stamps, then students logged into iReady to complete the last lesson/quiz before next week's iReady Diagnostic Testing.  Please have your GIST summary ready to be stamped by tomorrow.

In class on Friday, students earned on time stamps for their Masthspace Graphing Logs work evidence and then we processed Notes: Solving Exponential and Logarithmic Equations for a stamp.  After, students completed WS: Joke #8.  I will stamp this on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students earned a stamp on their processed Notes and then we completed Quiz Corrections for a stamp.  After, students logged into mathspace to complete MS: Graphing Logs. 

In class on Wednesday, students reviewed practice problems before completing Quiz: Simplifying Logarithms.    After, students were to process their Notes: Intro to Logarithms with an Essential Question, 4 study questions in the margin, highlighter marks, and a 5 sentence summary at the end.  Notes will be stamped tomorrow.

In class on Monday, students logged into Aeries to update their grade trackers.  Then students completed the Worksheet: Grade Analysis by recording all of their quiz/test scores from this semester and listing all red-coded missing assignments.

In class on Tuesday, students completed their grade trackers and then logged into iReady to complete their next Lesson and Quiz.  A learning log for this assignment is due tomorrow and it must have some math notes on the back side.  If you need to make up a khanacademy lesson alternative, see me for the correct topic.

In class on Friday, students finished copying yesterday's notes on Finding Zeros of Polynomials then we completed #9 and #10 from yesterday's worksheet Rational Roots Theorem and then stamped it.  After, we began working on WS: Joke 46.  We will have some time in class next week to finish this assignment before stamping.

Students were to fill out a GIST summary form based off of notes from the video and summarize with a 5 sentence paragraph.  

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed our course syllabus and expectations for 2nd semester, then students logged into iReady to complete either the Diagnostic Test 2 (if not done in December) or the next lesson and quiz.  Students were given a Learning Log form before dismissal.  You were to answer each question with a minimum of 7 sentences that have academic vocabulary in order to earn a stamp.

In class on Wednesday, students earned a stamp on yesterday's work evidence and then we reviewed multiplying polynomials before logging into mathspace to complete MS: Multiplication of Polynomials.  

In class on Tuesday, students updated their TOCs for participation points, then we stamped yesterday's worksheet 18.4 and then reviewed Classifying, Adding and Subtracting Polynomial Functions.  Please complete the MS: Addition and Subtraction of Polynomials in mathspace to earn a minimum of 75% mastery before midnight and I will stamp the work evidence tomorrow.

In class on Monday, students received stamps on last Thursday's notes packet: Solving Rational Equations, then they updated their Grade Trackers.  I graded completed calendars and then students received their sub worksheet back WS 18.5.  After, we worked on WS 18.4 which will be stamped tomorrow at the beginning of class.

Friday was a sub day.  Students completed worksheet 18.5 and turned it in before dismissal.

In class on Thursday, we stamped yesterday's work evidence if completed on time.  Then we completed Packet: Solving Rational Equations.  Remember that tomorrow is a sub day and so I will stamp this packet on Monday when I return.  Be sure to finish all example problems and check each solution to make sure it's not extraneous.

In class on Monday, students updated their grade trackers and had their calendar evidence from last week graded.  Then we logged into iReady to complete the second diagnostic test.  We will finish testing tomorrow.  Goal: improve in at least one math domain by one grade level.

In class on Monday, we reviewed factoring problems before students began the Unit 2 Test in mathspace.  Those who did not finish were given extra time at lunch tutoring.  

Due to spirit week festivities, no classes were held.  We will resume our regular schedule on Monday.

In class on Thursday, students earned stamps on their on time work evidence for MS:mixed Factoring Review.  Then we decided to postpone the test and notebook collection until tomorrow. so that students could finish their mathspace review task.  

In class on Wednesday, students used their Factoring Guide Worksheet to complete the test review in mathspace called Mixed Factoring Review (1-20 all).

In class on Tuesday, we reviewed the bottoms up method and made time to finish WS 13.6 to earn a stamp.  Then, students received the WS: Factoring Guide and were to show highlighter evidence and added the Perfect Square Factoring Formulas to the back side before stamping it.  Then students were to log in to mathspace to complete the task Mixed Factoring Review.  We will continue with this lesson in class tomorrow.

In class on Thursday, all students logged into iReady to either take the initial diagnostic assessment or complete growth monitoring lessons and quizzes.  Earning a score of 80% or higher ensure that you wont have to repeat the math lesson and quiz.

In class on Wednesday, students updated their TOC and then we reviewed how to factor by grouping in pairs and by using the box method and then students completed WS: Factoring by Grouping.  This worksheet will be stamped tomorrow at the beginning of class if complete.

In class on Monday, students updated their My Grade Tracker Sheets using Aeries.  Then we stamped Friday's worksheet: Factoring Differences of Squares.  After, we reviewed factoring Perfect Square Trinomials and students completed WS: Factoring Perfect Squares for a stamp.  Then we reviewed the formulas for factoring the Sum of Cubes and Difference of Cubes.  Students began practicing on WS: Factoring the Sum or Difference of Cubes.  We will finish this in class tomorrow.

In class on Friday, we reviewed examples from the notes on factoring by GCF and Difference of Squares methods. The students completed WS: Greatest Common Factoring Worksheet for a stamp on p. 42.  Afterwards, students were given WS: Factoring Difference of Squares.  We will stamp this worksheet on Monday after it is stapled to p.43.

In class on Thursday, students reviewed the process of focused note-taking, then they received a page of notes reviewing Factoring by GCF and Factoring Difference of Squares.  Students were to process the notes using a Cornell Notes strip to apply 4 study questions, highlighting marks, and a 5 sentence summary.

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed for our quiz as a class.  Then students completed their Quiz: Simplifying Binomial Expansions in mathspace while showing their work evidence on page 39 for a stamp when done.  Afterwards, students were to complete 3 Column Quiz Corrections (Mistake/Redo/Steps) on p. 40 for any non-green quiz problem.   Quiz corrections will be stamped tomorrow.

In class on Tuesday, students earned a stamp on WS: Binomial Squaring Practice, then we reviewed Binomial Sum and Difference Multiplication formula and students completed WS: Difference of Squares Multiplication Practice for a stamp before dismissal.  After, students logged in to mathspace to work on practice problems from the last 4 lessons in order to study for tomorrow's quiz.  

In class on Monday, students earned a stamp on their completed work evidence for "Expanding Binomials."  Then students updated their grade trackers.  After, we set up Unit 2 by copying the TOC and stapleing/glueing in all of the stamped assignments that have been collected thus far.  After, we completed a 1/2 WS Binomial Squaring Practice (applying special formulas, instead of FOIL).  Have it completed at the beginning of class tomorrow for a stamp.

In class on Friday, students turned in their work evidence from yesterday for on time credit.  Then, we reviewed How to Expand Binomials using the four special formula strategies: FOIL, Binomial Sum and Difference, Square of a Binomial Sum, and Square of a Binomial Difference.  After, students completed MS Practice for: "Expand Binomials" and need to show at least 5 problems for work evidence even if your account shows mastery.  Work evidence is due Monday at the beginning of class.

In class on Thursday, we reviewed how to expand polynomials with distributive and FOIL properties and then students completed Mathspace Practice for "Expanding Algebraic Expressions" to a mastery level of 75% or higher.  Please have your work evidence prepared to be turned in at the beginning of tomorrow's class. 

Wednesday was a sub day.  Students were to have turned in their previous night's work evidence and then completed the mathspace practice for "Simplifying Algebraic Expressions" to a 75% mastery level or higher.  Work evidence was to be turned in to the sub for on time stamp credit.

 

 

In class on Tuesday, students earned a stamp on their quiz and quiz corrections before turning in notebooks for on time credit grading.  Then, we completed our Grade Tracker using our updated grades in Aeries and turned it in.  After, we logged into mathspace.co  to complete "Verify Solutions to Equations" from chapter 1: Algebraic Expressions and Equations.  You have until midnight to earn 100% mastery on this topic and the work for every problem must be shown on a single sheet of paper that is due to the substitute tomorrow for the on time stamp.

In class on Monday, students studied their Absolute Value Review worksheet from Friday then we completed the Quiz: Absolute Value Functions.  Afterwards, students completed Quiz Corrections for a stamp.

Friday was a sub day.  Students were to show their work neatly for each problem of the review worksheet WS 12.6: Perimeter and Area with Polynomials.  All work was to be turned in to the sub for on time credit.

In class on Thursday, students received their stamped WS: Graphing Absolute Value Functions, then we completed the Absolute Value review worksheet by completing all four problems and writing out the steps and rules for each.  Students also received the IMN grading policy that we highlighted with interaction evidence marks and then had stamped to put on page 2 of the notebook.  

Please update your Table of Contents and prepare notebooks are turned in on Friday.

Tuesday was an unexpected Sub Day.  All review worksheets should have been turned in to the sub before dismissal

In class on Monday, students continued with the iReady Diagnostic Math Testing until it was completed.  Afterwards, students had the option to complete a review worksheet.  

In class on Thursday, students began the iReady Diagnostic Test that will take about two class sessions to complete.  Thank you for your attendance and for giving it your best.

 

Make Up Test Days will be announced next week.  Take time to look at your aeries accounts and notebooks to see if there is any missing work that you can make up.

In class on Wednesday, students worked in groups to finish #s 2-26 even of the WS: Solving Absolute Value Inequalities.  Please staple this work to page 22.  We will complete a review and quiz on our next available class day (Most likely Monday, due to iReady Math Diagnostic Testing that begins tomorrow).

 

For iReady testing, be sure to give it your best effort, No Rushing, and bring your earbuds/headphones so that the brain break games do not disturb others.  

In class on Tuesday, we reviewed yesterday's exit slip and then students wrote out the steps for each problem for a stamp.  Then, we reviewed solving and graphing absolute value inequalities before completing 2-26 even from the WS: Solving Absolute Value Inequalities.  Please refer to yesterday's notes posting if you need more help.

In class on Monday, students finished their WS: FACEing Math, Solving Absolute Value Equations and then worked in groups to color in the portrait according to the answer key guide.  After, we reviewed Solving Absolute Value Inequalities.  There was an exit slip assigned before dismissal.  

In class on Friday, we completed a grade check and reflection using our aeries account.  Then, we reviewed Absolute Value Functions, before working with our groups to complete 9 problems each from the WS: FACEing Math Solving Absolute Value Equations.

In class on Thursday, students spent time working with groups to finish solving their systems of equations from WS 8.1 by using the Elimination Method.  Stamps were given afterwards.

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed the Elimination method for solving systems of equations and then students practiced by completing #s 3-8 from our previously stamped WS 8.1.  We will finish in class and stamp tomorrow.  The notes from class are attached.

In class on Tuesday, students with updated TOCs and organized notebooks earned some extra credit points.  Then, we stamped the work evidence for WS 9.16.  After, we traded and graded the Linear Functions Quiz and completed our 3 Column Corrections.

In class on Friday, students earned a stamp on their completed WS 8.1 on Systems of Equations, then after reviewing our worksheets on linear equations and inequalities, we completed the Quiz: Linear Functions.  Please make time to update your table of contents and organize your work to prepare for an upcoming notebook check.

No School on Monday due to the observance of Labor Day.  See you all Tuesday in full uniform.

In class on Thursday, we collected syllabus parent signature forms, then students finished WS: Graphing Inequalities and then earned their stamp.  Then, each group reviewed the vocabulary terms in WS 7.4 before earning their stamps.  After, students were given WS 8.1: Graphing Systems of Linear Equations.  

In class on Wednesday, we reviewed the syllabus and put on our highlighter interaction evidence.  Please get your syllabus acknowledgement forms signed by parents tonight.  Afterwards, students received their timed integer quizzes and we corrected our multiplication chart/squares/cubes lists.  Then, we reviewed Inequalities and began the WS: Graphing Inequalities.  We will finish in class tomorrow.

In class on Tuesday, students set up Unit 1 of the notebook as I stamped Author's Pages.  After, we reviewed Graphing Linear Equations together before students received WS: Graphing Lines.  Completed worksheets were stamped before dismissal.

In class on Monday, students logged into mathspace to change our curriculum.  Then we completed our authors page.

In class on Thursday, students completed the Timed Integers Quiz, then we continued with our course expectations slideshow.  We completed at KWL assignment on How the Brain Learns Information and then started our learning styles survey.

1. All work needs to have work shown and is due to your substitute before dismissal
2. Sub Day Participation Points are TRIPLE a regular day, which means 60 points.  You must work as a team to earn an excellent behavior note from your sub by sitting and working quietly with your learning groups for the entire period.  If your class wins best class of the day, those students will earn extra credit!
