Persuasive essay and persuasive speech due week of TUESDAY 2/21/12 Last day to turn in essay is FRIDAY 2/24/12 no exceptions. Please see the grading rubrics for both the speech and the essay. Please bring both rubrics to class; I will use them to grade you.

Essay prompt: Compare and contrast today's anti-slavery movement with the abolitionist movement. Use your Venn diagram created in class; reference the articles and resources gone over in class. Use the internet and writing rubric given in class. Minimum one page response. *Think about the different points of the Gettysburg address, and MLK "I Have A Dream" speech.

ASW set up a gmail account. (worth 20 points) Have your gmail account ready to go, make sure you know your user name and password. We use GMAIL to set up our web sites and GMAIL will house all your documents for FREE. It is a great tool to use if you do not have a thumb drive or are working from a computer with different versions. On Friday we will be in the computer lab and you will be able to continuing working on your PPT, you need to email your PPT into cyber space/or upload it to GMAIL so you can work on it from home.
